About Us

making visible our international diversity

Our Story

The films we screen seek to stimulate creative dialogue amongst peoples, communities and nationalities. We aim to question and challenge the practice of human rights and freedom of speech.

Within our spectrum are Unseen films and those of low visibility, some censored and some banned. There are films also chosen by marginalised communities and those reflecting special interests. We invite you to learn, enjoy and absorb the profound importance of such films from various international filmmakers.

TIC Film Festival is part of Grays Festival of Film. Other activities include three outdoor film screenings of popular films in the grounds of South Essex College and films for children at Thameside Theatre.

TIC stands for Thurrock International Celebration – the gateway flowing in and out of London and the globe via the docks.

It is a partnership with Thameside Theatre (a Film Hub South East member), Anglo Asiatic Arts and Heritage Alliance (AAAHA), Bridge The Moon Productions, LGBT Thurrock and Thurrock Nepalese (Gurkha) Community.
